Revetments
Revetments are primarily
built to reduce the hydraulic loads acting on the soil with the
aim of preventing or halting erosion. The Fabriform system
is suited to many deferent types of revetment applications in varying
locations, as can be seen in the typical examples shown below, these
are just a few of the hundreds of projects completed.
Rivers

Approximately 300,000
m² of matt laid over a 16 km section of river to protect the
outer bends from undercut erosion. Installation was carried out
by local labour in teams of 3-4
Tidal Reaches

Installed 1966-68, along
a tidal stretch of river in southern England. After over 30 years
of use the Local River Authority advised that the systems long term
maintenance is much lower than that of rock armour.
Marinas

Sandy ground material
on the site of a proposed marina was subject to underscour erosion,
in order to prevent this matt was laid over the fine sand material.
Due to the porosity of the bed, and the need for fines retentation
FP150 matt was selected as the most appropriate in this situation.

Used in conjunction with
rock armour to limit wave run up.
