Fabriform™ mattress can be used as impermeable linings to canals and lagoons to improve water retention. Constant thickness mattresses is used for this purpose, often 100 mm thickness.

Where scour protection is required against currents or wave action, filter point mattress FP150 is normally used. This matt was recently used on the River Thames flood relief channel to Maidenhead, Windsor and Eaton.
