Channel Linings are used to protect water carrying routes from erosion.

They can be used to protect of varying sizes of water course from drainage ditches, to rivers & streams.
Both CT matt and FP matt are widely used for Channel Linings. Matt with 100 mm average thickness is rated as adequate protection for 5 m/s scour flows. The picture to the right shows how a channel lining is used to protect a bridge,
whilst the picture above shows a Storm Channel protection.
