Caissons - Vertical Seals

Grouted forms are often used to create seals between precast concrete caissons. The condensed seal is normally fixed into a protective recess to prevent installation damage. The condensed seals have 'break' covers which fail upon grouting ensuring a good seal along the full length of the joint.

Grouted forms are particularly useful to seal gaps with a large tolerance range or against irregular surfaces. Seals can be used as watertight seals, grout & concreteing seals or solely as connection & shear bearings.
Seals can be filled with neat cement grout or sand: cement micro concrete.
