Mix Design - Technical Details

The Micro-Concrete mix that is generally used to fill the Fabriform™ Mattresses is a 2:1 ratio Sand, Cement mix, with a water cement ration varying from 0.5 - 0.75 (depending on the granulometry of the sand to give the required fluidity.

Following the injection of the mix into the Fabriform™ the free water will pass out through the walls of the fabric formwork until the water/ cement ratio is down to the order of 0.40. The loss of the excess mixing water used to convey the mix into all parts of the form means that the resultant concrete within the form will have a strength of 30 - 35 Newton's. It will also be dense and have a greater degree of impermeability.

Typical Micro-Concrete Mix Proportions

Cement 556 kg/m³
Sand - Fine sharp washed. Zone 3-4 1112 kg/m³
Water (mixing 0.7 to suit sand grading) 387 kg/m³
